Nevada High Desert Outfitters is located 20 miles south east of Elko in Lamoille at the base of the majestic Ruby Mountains. We have been doing business since 1997 and the Owner Mitch Buzzetti has lived in Lamoille his whole life. To say the least Mitch knows the Ruby mountains and the Northeastern corner of Nevada very well.

We offer a variety of hunts for all classes of hunters. Our hunts are conducted either on horse back, out of a truck, off ATV's or a combination of the three. Nevada High Desert Outfitters also hunts a variety of animals, from Mule Deer(our most popular hunts), Elk, Bighorn Sheep( Desert, California and Rocky), Ruby Mountain Goats, and Cougars.

Nevada High Desert Outfitters likes to start the season early and finish it late. We offer Archery hunts for beginners to expert archers. Our guides know the areas very well and have a good idea where to find the deer in the archery season. Depending on where you draw we will locate the deer in your area and help you stock that giant buck.

Archery hunts are usually 5 days with a half day travel each way, 6 full days of hunting and is a fully guided trip. This includes meals, transportation, horse, and field dressing your animal.

We also offer drop camps in the Ruby Mountains for those do it yourselfers who don't want to waste all their energy just getting their camp into the Rubys. For a small fee we will pack all your supplies into an area of your choice and come back six days later and back all your gear, you and your animal out.

We have two varieties of 4-day hunts to accommodate each hunters needs.

The first variety of our 4-day hunts is a great hunt for the hunter who likes to hunt but would also like to take a shower and have a warm bed to sleep in each night. You will stay at the Buzzetti's house which is located in Lamoille and drive to the hunting area each day.

The second variety of our 4-day hunts is for those hunters that want to bring everything with them. This variety of 4-day hunt we can drive to camp and will then ride horses each morning out of camp for a half hour or more. This gives the hunter the opportunity to hunt the Ruby Mountains without the three hour horse back ride to camp.

The pack-in Hunt is for the avid hunter who wants the whole experience of packing into the Ruby Mountains. This is a physical hunt because not only do we pack-in 5 miles spending a couple hours on the horses just to get to camp, we will also ride each morning for another hour or so to get to the different hunting areas. We recommend that if you want to go on this hunt that you condition yourself before the hunt with some light horse back riding and walk a couple miles a day. Conditioning for the hunt will result in less aches and pains throughout your hunt and will make your hunt more enjoyable.

The pack-in hunt is a fully guided hunt with food, horses and stories. You will stay in top of the line wall tents with six foot side walls making life at camp more comfertable. The hunt is a six day hunt allowing for a day travel each way and four full days of hunting.

The trophy hunt is for the hunter who wants the monster. The trophy hunt is typically a late season hunt hoping to catch the bucks in full rut and have a little snow to push the deer out of the mountains. The trophy hunt is a fully guided hunt with food, horses and transportation from Lamoille provided. This is a one on one fully guided seven day hunt. A half day travel each way with six full days of hunting.

The trophy hunt is our premier hunt and is an experience you will not soon forget.

The mystical Mountain Lion is one animal that many will never see in the wild. If one does see a Mountain Lion it is a site you will never forget. If you want to hunt cats in Nevada we ask that you are very flexible in terms of hunting times. Weather plays a key role in a successful hunt, we like to hunt cats the day after a good snow. We offer a couple different hunts.

Our classic Mountain Lion hunt is six full days of hunting. This is a fully guided cat hunt with meals and transportation from Lamoille included.

Our Trophy Mountain Lion hunt is for the hunters that have already harvested one cat and would now like to get a Trophy Tom. These hunts are ten full days of hunting and have a great success. Just like our classic Moutnain Lion hunt weather plays an important role in the success of the hunt so we again ask that you can come on a moments notice. Our guides know a lot about hunting but can't predict the weather so a days notice is not uncommon with our Mountian Lion hunts.
